Eckhaus Latta manifests their ideologies for AW20. Fashion is not important, but clothes are. Eckhaus Latta, on the hand, delivered much more than just pretty clothes for AW20 during their show at New York Fashion Week. The brand has quickly become a go-to staple for the non-binary community, a brand that reflects, understands and produces clothing for really everyone, just look at their casting this season. It was one of the most diverse castings of the season.
The collection played with textures and motifs this season above all, but what truly stood out was the dye-techniques you could witness on their denim items this season. Acid washed types of denim with frayed hemlines were even patch-worked for some looks. The opening look featured this technique in the shape of a bralette. What is interesting with Eckhaus Latta for AW20 is the colour scheme, for AW20, most designers today steer away from bright hues – but not Eckhaus Latta. This season the brand incorporated bright shades of acid green, banana yellow and bright blue, next to autumn staples like warm beige and brown. The collection was a magical breath of fresh air and continued to push Eckhaus Latta’s ideologies upon us and it was truly a joy to witness.
