Telfar Clemens showed growth at Pitti with his autumn/winter 2020 collection.
There’s truly no one like Telfar Clemens in the realm of fashion, his unparalleled connection to youth culture and New York shines so incredibly bright in his collections. The friendship, camaraderie and true-to-self nature of the brand is what has made Telfar one of the leading and most exciting brands on the fashion calendar.
For the collection, Telfar Clemens explored with new techniques and finishes, while he played with the ideas of gender. The Cut recently described the now-iconic Telfar bag as the “Bushwick Birkin” which is not fair to the brand, because Telfar is so much more than just a bag. Through the autumn/winter 2020 collection, Telfar Clemens incorporated knitwear, new printing techniques, leatherwork and denim in a new and innovative way, resulting in what can easily be described as one of their best collections yet. The collection featured new takes on classic Telfar items like the chaps, sweatpants and hoodies, autumn/winter 2020 also included puffer detailing on trousers and jackets – not to mention oversized tailoring and to-die-for boots featuring the Telfar logo on the side.
The colour palette for Telfar’s latest collection was set in true-to-brand warm hues of beige, camel, red and brown – paralleled with cold nuances of ice blue, royal blue and indigo. The highlight of the collection remains the same each season, as Telfar Clemens has a way of juxtapositioning luxury fabrics with athletic fabrics, inevitably creating a new genre of fashion that is singular to the house of Telfar.
